City Manager
The city manager is the chief executive
officer and head of the administrative branch of the Yukon city government. He executes the laws and ordinances and
administers the government of the city, and is responsible to the council.
James D. Crosby
Yukon City Manager
Jim Crosby began his municipal government career in 1964. He has held municipal positions in Norman and Oklahoma City. While working in Norman, he served on the Norman Municipal Hospital Board.
Mr. Crosby has been the City Manager of Yukon since 1994. During his tenure, he has been successful in developing and implementing a capital improvement program that is financed by a three-quarter-of-a-cent dedicated sales tax; the renovation and relocation of Yukon city offices; the development of a new 50-acre city park; the purchase and renovation of a vacant “Food Lion” store to house the local library, more than doubling the space in the previous library; and a new senior citizen’s center; and a new location for Mobile Meals. Several public works projects have also been completed under Crosby’s direction including an extensive street resurfacing and improvement program; water tower well improvements; sewer plant; construction and completion of a new gymnasium and gazebo; and the purchase of police, fire and public works vehicles and equipment. Crosby has also developed many community events during the holiday season, as well as organizing several special performances with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic.
