REGULATIONS

1. Garbage carts must be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. on regular pickup day.
2. Privately owned trash containers placed at the curb will not be emptied.
3. Tree limbs and cuttings will be picked up if tied in bundles not to exceed 4 feet long weighing more than 50 pounds. They must be placed curbside on the regular pickup day.
4. Grass and weed cuttings must be in tied garbage bags and placed at the curb on regular pickup day.
5. Heavy objects should not be placed in the cart or at the curb, including metal, concrete, bricks, rock and dirt.
6. Fire ashes will not be picked up due to fire hazard.
7. Carts must be removed from the curb within 24 hours after refuse has been collected.

EXTRA GARBAGE CARTS

Each household is issued one green trash cart for free. Residents needing an additional cart may purchase a blue one from Utility Billing. Sanitation will deliver it to the customer's address.  The customer owns the blue cart and therefore can take it with them if they relocate to another address.  There are charges for replacement parts, but no additional monthly fee.

CART REPAIRS

There is no charge for repairs on green trash carts, however, the customer is charged for replacing the cart when damaged beyond normal wear and tear.

RURAL CUSTOMERS

The City of Yukon provides trash service to residents living outside the city limits in a defined area. Contact Utility Billing for details.

COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS

All businesses must utilize the City of Yukon’s trash service. Two Yard Dumpsters may be purchased from Utility Billing and will delivered by Sanitation. Contact Utility Billing for details.

EXTRA GARBAGE PICK UPS

Customers needing their trash cart(s) emptied in addition to their regular pick up day may contact Utility Billing to request an extra pickup.  A $5 fee will appear on the following monthly bill for residential customers and $25 for commercial customers.
